Biographical or Historical Note
Owned and operated by the Pellini family between 1932 and 2008, Pellini was the oldest operating auto dealership in Sonoma County, and the last auto dealership in Sebastopol. The dealership was founded in 1932 by Angelo "Pete" Pellini, who ran it until after World War II, when his son Harold Pellini took over the company, followed by his grandson, Pete Pellini, in 1984. The dealership was built on the former site of Sebastopol's South Chinatown and expanded to include the site of Sebastopol's last Japanese grocery store, Asahi Company, at 123 Petaluma Avenue, following World War II. Following the dealership closure, the site was proposed for redevelopment.
